About Us
Matthew Sanford is a residential and community development visionary based in Charleston, SC. In his early career, he founded and grew businesses in both consumer packaged goods and telecommunications. For the last twenty years, he has established himself as a foremost leader in retail banking. It was during this time that Matthew’s appreciation for landscape and interior design blossomed, leading him to give new life to existing residences in New England and the Southeast.
Deeply passionate about community engagement and shared experience, Matthew established the non-profit organization CAYA in 2020 fostering mindfulness and wellbeing in children through arts, agriculture and allyship. In the same year he founded and developed Blue Bee Farm as both a working farm and physical asset to CAYA’s mission. His process is dedicated to responsible design and driven by the alchemy created between humans and nature.
Amber Guyton is a multidisciplinary creative director, designer and storyteller with nearly twenty years of experience building environments, narratives and reputations for global brands, organizations and people. A Charleston native with a B.S. from the University of South Carolina, Amber began her career in New York within the visionary world of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.
In 2020, Amber returned to the Lowcountry forming a proprietary studio serving clients such as Calvin Klein, LVMH, Netflix, Google and Hilton and building a community of makers and experts in design. In 2024, Studio Held launched in partnership with Matthew Sanford. Amber’s perspective on interior design reflects an unceasing cultural curiosity, a carefully honed visual language and decades of global exploration.
